Sister Bars & O-Cells

GEO supplied and installed these sisterbar strain gauges to monitor an axial pile load test for large-bore piles. The strain measurements are used to calculate shaft load during O-cell testing.

In a typical test, the O-cell is welded between upper and lower reinforcement cages. Gauges are attached to both.

Careful preparation is required during installation so that the gauges survive the installation process. The data is processed in real time during testing.
