Project Requirements

This 40-foot retaining wall is situated above a public parking lot. The area sees occasional heavy rains, so early warning of potential deformation of the wall was required. The client requested a non-intrusive, long-term monitoring system.

Solution

GEO installed a wireless node-and-gateway network of tiltmeters on the wall. These advanced tiltmeters have a 5-year battery life, transmitting measurements through a cellular gateway to the internet at 10-minute intervals.
