Project

This tilt-up constructed storage facility experienced cracks, settlement, and movement of walls.

Monitoring Requirement:

Monitoring required 10 hydrostatic level cells to monitor settlements, and a node-and-gateway network consisting of 10  wireless tiltmeters to monitor any outward rotation of the walls and 3 crackmeters with wireless VW Nodes to monitor cracks in the wall.

Implementation:

All instrumentation was automated so that the structure was monitored 24/7. Measurements were transmitted off site by cellular modems to GeoCloud servers that posted data and graphs on a dedicated website. The system was also capable of sending alerts to smartphones and PCs.
